“Chattanooga Choo Choo” was written by Harry Warren (music) and Mack Gordon (lyrics), and was featured in the 1941 film “Sun Valley Serenade”.  It was performed in the movie by the Glen Miller Orchestra, and quickly became a popular big band swing tune, holding the #1 spot on the Billboard charts for nearly 2 months.  It has also been recorded by Tex Beneke, Willie Nelson, Cab Calloway, and the Andrews Sisters.

One of the interesting aspects of this tune is the fact that it modulates from the key of D in the “A-part” (verse) to the key of G in the “B-part” (chorus).
