“Let There Be Peace on Earth” was written by the husband and wife song writing team of Jill and Sy Miller in 1955 as part of a workshop for the International Children’s Choir in Long Beach, California.  There were 180 teenagers of all races and religions, and from all over the world, in attendance for that first performance high in the California mountains.  At the end of the weekend, the inspired youth took the song back home with them and shared it, and it quickly spread around the globe.  It has since become the quintessential “peace anthem”, and has been recorded by such luminaries as Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Patti Page, Bing Crosby, Vince Gill, and others.
